About the Freewheelin' Trading Post...
The South's largest Biker & Cruiser Clothing store...
The Freewheelin' Trading Post originally started as a father and son partnership, Roger & Jason. Roger (dad) rode traditional British bikes way back in the swingin' sixties: BSA, Matchless, Royal Enfield, Velocette (remember the Venom?) to name a few. Jason then moved on to new pastures, leaving Roger to carry on the business as a 'one-man-band'.
Talking of bands, Roger originally sang in folk groups before learning the drums and moving on to rock ‘n' roll, blues and folk rock. He spent a few years playing to GI's in Germany, entertaining sun-drenched tourists in Spain and trying to cure seasick passengers on cross-Channel ferries.
Roger returned to biking a few years ago and has owned three bikes since: an 1100 Virago, a 95th Anniversary Harley Wide Glide and currently a 100th Anniversary Harley Dyna Low Rider, but is saving hard for a custom chopper (A "Captain America" would be nice!).
Aside than from a passion for motorbikes, the idea for the Trading Post came about from a lack of Biker and Cruiser type clothing & merchandise in the area - and the fact that the shop is conveniently located directly opposite the South's leading cruiser bike specialist, "Phil's Motorcycle Mall".
We look forward to seeing you sometime... |
